Our circa 1860 stone house, nestled amongst pines and maples, has the charm and serenity you remember as a child visiting Grandma's house. The peaceful surroundings, the many perennial gardens and birds, the antics of the horses and the gentle swing of the hammocks on a warm summers evening brings you back to days gone by. Just a few short minutes to town and Trent University.

If you remember watching Anne of Green Gables, you will have a sense of what Lilac Lane is all about. Our four acres, surrounded by 100 acres, can accommodate medium size tented gatherings on the lawn and pool area. Plan your next wedding, anniversary or function on one of Peterborough’s finest properties.

We opened our Antique and Gift Shoppe in October 2005 and have experienced the delight of many returning customers. Come and explore the old barn, you may just be surprised at what you will find.

More About Our Bed & Breakfast

As your hosts, we would like to make your stay a memorable one. If you have any special needs or wants, just ask and we will do our best to accommodate you. Our two common rooms offer ample room for relaxing. The Living room offers an extensive library for nights when you just want to curl up with a good book or watch some T.V. It also features a display fireplace, sofa and two wing chairs. Our Sitting room features a wood stove and two leather reclining chairs for relaxing in front of the fire after a busy day. Your hosts have separate living quarters from the guests.

During the summer you can enjoy the use of the in ground lap pool. It is surrounded by a raised bed of perennials and is bordered by a concrete and interlocking brick patio as well as a large gazebo. This area is a perfect spot to have a cup of coffee, read the morning paper or relax after a day of sunbathing.

We provide lots of hammocks by the pool or under the trees, perfect for catching the cool breezes of summer. Often referred to as a resort by our guest but without the crowds. We want you to feel at home while you are away from home and we feel this is the perfect retreat for such a get-a-way.
